Alta Murgia is an area in the heart of Puglia, near Bari, the national capital of Puglia.

The leading grape variety is formed by Nero di Troia, other grape varieties grown here are the white: Bombino, Pampanuto, Greco, Malvasia Bianca and the red: Bombino Nero, Aglianico and Montepulciano.

The climate is well balanced between sun and rain.

The landscape is hilly. Karst soils characterize the landscape, very deep aquifers run under the stony soils.
